When photos of Jennifer Love Hewitt in a bikini on a Hawaiian beach hit the Web last fall, the headlines weren’t very … polite.
TMZ.com, for example, said, "We know what you ate this summer, Love — everything!"
To her credit, Hewitt fought back on her Website with some noble feminist sizist sentiments: "I’ve sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women’s bodies are constantly scrutinized.
"To set the record straight, I’m not upset for me, but for all the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.
"A size 2 is not fat! Nor will it ever be. And being a size 0 doesn’t make you beautiful. To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist," she wrote, "put on a bikini — put it on and stay strong."
Maybe she should have said, get off the couch, close the fridge, lose 18 pounds in 10 weeks and get on the cover of Us Weekly, looking smoking hot.
"I am in a pretty good workout regimen that I like, so it inspired me to keep it up," Hewitt told Us.
"With her, it’s not ‘I want to look good in that dress,’ " her trainer Stevie Sant’Angelo told Us. "She wanted to start moving around because she thought it would make her feel better."
Oh, right, she wanted to "feel better."
Do you buy that? And do you think she looks better?
