Tell me if this doesn’t sounds familiar.
George Michael was arrested in a public toilet.
Yup, it’s a rerun. The first time this happened was a decade ago, in 1998, when he was detained by an undercover cop for alleged lewd conduct (soliciting sex) in a Beverly Hills public restroom. This resulted in his being outed as a homosexual.
This time the bust took place Friday in London’s Hampstead Heath area, and Michael was found to have class A and class C drugs on his person.
In a statement, Michael said: "I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I’ll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them."
Last month Michael completed his world tour and was going to retire from large stadium shows, saying he wanted to leave the "bells and whistles of touring for a quieter life." Though he is in a long-term committed relationship, he has confessed to seeking anonymous and no-strings sex on Hampstead Heath.
Earlier this year, the 45-year-old signed a multimillion-dollar deal with publisher HarperCollins to write his autobiography, which he claimed would be a "no-holds barred" account of his wild life.
Better save room for one more chapter, George. And stay out of the darn public toilets.
Go before you leave home!
