Mykelti Williamson will be the head honcho for the eighth season of “24,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The “Forrest Gump” actor has been cast as regular Brian Hasting, the super-smart special agent in charge of CTU New York.
Production started this week on the eight season of the FOX drama, which will be set in Manhattan.
Also joining the cast is Doug Hutchinson in the recurring role as European terrorist Davros.
Among those previously cast are Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Westfeldt, Anil Kapoor, John Boyd and Chris Diamontopoulos.
Besides his big-screen work, Williamson has appeared on the short-lived “Kidnapped” and “Boomtown” and guest starred on “CSI: NY.”
