Just two days ago, NBC Entertainment co-chairman Marc Graboff confirmed that “Law & Order: SVU” will return in the fall with or without Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay, the show’s lead actors who are currently renegotiating their contracts with the network.
The stars are reportedly asking for a cut of the series’ back-end profits, which is proving to be a sticking point.
Last night, however, at the Joyful Heart Foundation Gala in New York City, Hargitay and Meloni broke their silence on the situation, expressing hope that a deal is reached.
“We’re all trying to work it out and I have a lot of faith it’s going to work out,” Hargitay told “Access Hollywood.”
Meloni was slightly less optimistic, but seems to be keeping his fingers crossed as well. “At this point it’s out of my hands,” he said. “It’s a good vibe on the
set. We love each other. We all love each other. We’re still happy with
the stories that we’re telling and, you know, we’ll see how it works
