Natalieportman_oscars09_290 Natalie Portman, who’s played a queen a couple times before, will once again take up the royal mantle.

The 27-year-old actress will play a warrior princess in the fantasy comedy “Your Highness,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She joins Danny McBride (“Land of the Lost”) and James Franco (“Pineapple Express”) in the Universal Pictures project that revolves around an big-headed, layabout prince (McBride) who’s challenged to complete a quest in order to save his dad’s kingdom. Portman will play his love interest while Franco will play his more competent and heroic brother.

Portman will next be seen on the big screen in the indie film “New York, I Love You,” in which she also directed a segment, and the drama “Brothers,” due in theaters in December.

Portman’s royal lineage includes playing Queen Amidala in the “Star Wars” prequels and Anne Boleyn in “The Other Boleyn Girl.”
