Now that the right wing beauty queen heroine Carrie Prejean will become a subdued, obedient Miss California and not mouth off in National Organization for Marriage PSAs again, perhaps you're ready for some unfiltered Sarah Palin.
Palin is finally ready to tell her story in a memoir, perfectly timed to come out during her gubernatorial re-election race in spring 2010. And, oh, we can hardly wait.
"There's been so much written about and spoken about in the mainstream media and in the anonymous blogosphere world, that this will be a wonderful, refreshing chance for me to get to tell my story, that a lot of people have asked about, unfiltered," the Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee told the AP.
Palin's as-yet-untitled memoir will cover her personal and political life, from childhood to last year's campaign, including the pregnancy of her teenage daughter Bristol Palin, who has already ditched that high school sweetheart loser fiance.
Palin didn't name specific topics like Clothing Gate, her Bill Ayers-Barack Obama terrorist comments, Lipstick on a Pig, successfully losing poor John McCain his last chance at a presidential seat, etc., etc., etc. Nor did she comment on what her book advance was, although there were once rumors of an absurdly high $11 million figure.
The book will be co-released by the HarperCollins imprint Harper. For the Christian market, it will be handled by the publishing house's Zondervan division, which publishes "The Purpose Driven Life" author Rick Warren.
Palin has never written a book, and some observers, recalling her unforgettably incomprehensible interviews with Katie Couric, have questioned whether she can string together enough coherent sentences to make a book. But that's what book collaborators (ghost writers) are for. And yes, she will have one.
Two years ago, Palin revealed that one of her favorite writers was C.S. Lewis ("very, very deep"). Perhaps she's talking about his children's books, "The Chronicles of Narnia." And she also loves a Runner's World columnist, Dr. George Sheehan.
Hoo boy. Will you buy and read Sarah's book? You betcha or not a chance?
