The "Total Recall" remake is one step closer to reality.
A new version of Arnold Schwarzenegger's famously mind-bending action flick — was he really the hero, or was it all the memory machine's malfunction? — just picked up writer Kurt Wimmer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Wimmer wrote the upcoming Angelina Jolie spy movie "Salt" and the Jamie Foxx–Gerard Butler vigilante picture "Law Abiding Citizen." Based on those credentials, it's safe to say the new "Total Recall" will hew closer to Ahnold's actioner than Philip K. Dick's more cerebral source material.
"Total Recall" follows Douglas Quaid, a normal guy who visits a service that implants false memories, and instead learns he's an interplanetary secret agent with mysterious connections to Mars.
