Jake Pavelka is coming back to “The Bachelor” franchise — again.
The 31-year-old commercial pilot, who was a contestant on “The Bachelorette” last summer, was announced as the new “Bachelor” Tuesday night (Oct. 13) during “Dancing with the Stars.” His casting continues a trend in which a person rejected from a previous installment of the franchise gets a new shot at finding love on television.
Pavelka was eliminated midway through the Jillian Harris season of “The Bachelorette,” but he’s better known for returning to the show later on (with the producers’ blessing) and calling out fellow contestant Wes Hayden, who he claimed still had a girlfriend and was on the show for the wrong reasons.
The new season of “The Bachelor” is scheduled to premiere Jan. 4. It will be subtitled — get ready for it — “On the Wings of Love.”
