While attempting to power through “Forever & Always” at the start of the show proved too much for Taylor Swift, she had better results when she took to a stool and a guitar for her second Country Music Award number of the evening: “Fifteen.”
Good thing or otherwise her being named Performer of the Year might have been embarrassing for all parties involved.
Surrounded by her singing-along fans, Swift’s vocal imperfections come across as endearing rather than cringe-inducing. She won’t be able to milk this sort of coffee shoppe singer/songwriter charm for long, so she better make the best of it while she can … or learn how to go big.
