The numbers keep going up for CBS shows like “NCIS,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “The Good Wife,” but the opposite is true for the network’s Friday night staple “Numb3rs.”

According to Variety, CBS has reduced the season’s order from 22 to 16, making room at midseason for the return of familiar fare like “Flashpoint” and new shows “Undercover Boss” and “The Bridge.”

The series, which features FBI agent Don Eppes (Rob Morrow) solving crime with the aid of his younger brother, Charlie (David Krumholtz), a mathematical genius
and college professor, is in its sixth season.

CBS has now handed
out additional episodes to three of its four new shows. Earlier this
fall, “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “The Good Wife” each got full-season
pickups, along with “Accidentally on Purpose” earlier this week. Still hanging is the medical drama “Three Rivers.”
