Okay, Team Edward fans: With 10 days left until the debut of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” you can get your RPattz fix on DVD.
Revolver’s unauthorized biopic “Robsessed” follows young star Robert Pattinson‘s beginning in music, his dabbling in modeling and stage acting, and his breakthrough in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” Don’t expect the “True Hollywood Stories” arc of success, failure and redemption. For one thing, Pattinson’s simply too young to have that sort of life experience yet: The feature comes in at just over an hour. For another, “Robsessed” is overwhelmingly positive, heaping accolades on his skill when not drooling over his looks.
Some of the breathless reporting is a bit much for people who aren’t already, well, Robsessed. That brings up a good question: Who’s the audience? Huge fans of the vampire series and Pattinson himself will already know his biography. Not a fan? It feels like the interviewees are trying desperately and earnestly to sell you a product.
There are few surprises, not to mention a lack of really interesting dips below the surface. The closest “Robsessed” gets to a negative is his experience on “Goblet of Fire,” when Pattinson was overshadowed by the already established cast.
So, verdict? Team Edward fans will find it a fun way to indulge their love while waiting for the Nov. 20 “New Moon” debut. Everyone else should let Pattinson grow up a bit and get a bit more interesting material for his biography.
