carrieunderwood americanmusicawards large 'American Idol' Carrie Underwood takes down Simon Cowell, ex boyfriend Tony RomoFormer “American Idol” star Carrie Underwood isn’t mincing words when it comes to the men in her life.

Underwood gave a freeform interview to Esquire in which she takes on “Idol” judge Simon Cowell and ex-boyfriend Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

]]>Underwood goes fairly easy on Cowell:

“Simon’s obviously very smart. But he’s not the smartest person I know.”

Okay, we can dig it. It’s a backhanded swipe, but tempered with that Southern semi-sweetness. Just wait. Of Romo, Underwood says:

“Is ‘Cowboy Casanova’ about the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys? No. I would never immortalize a guy that did me wrong. I would never give him that much credit.”

Ouch! She won’t even name him.
