“20/20” welcomed R&B singer Chris Brown Friday night, for one of the few interviews he’s given since the domestic violence incident with Rihanna in February.
Robin Roberts sat down with Brown, playing clips of Rihanna’s interview with “20/20” and a clip from two years ago on “The Tyra Show” when Brown spoke about the abuse his mother received at the hands of his stepfather and how he doesn’t want to do that to a woman.
Brown expressed his regret for what happened, saying, “I’m really sorry for what went down and what happened and by no means do I think that’s acceptable.” He also said he knows he let a lot of people down.
When the subject of his song “Changed Man” came up, Brown said he played it for Rihanna after he wrote it and that “she cried when she first heard the song.” He then says he “has love” for Rihanna and is now just trying to focus on what he can do with his talent.
Brown completed community service and is still undergoing domestic violence classes. He is also on five years probation after pleading guilty to felony assault. Brown certainly seems sorry and if he is able to become a better person and not do this kind of thing anymore, then good for him. That’s exactly what should happen after something like this.
