Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler
has entered rehab — for the second time in two years — for addiction to prescription drugs.
“With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton
and Brad Whitford
,” Tyler’s statement
Tyler, 61, at right at the Glamour Women of the Year event, has
orthopedic injuries, severe chronic pain and requires additional
surgeries on his knees and feet, as a result of decades of performing.
Tyler fell off a stage during a concert in August, breaking his shoulder, alarming even his bandmates.
]]>Kramer tells People, “I think that he needs help and that attention needs to be put to his health,” adding that Tyler, who battled drug addiction in the ’70s and 80s, had “isolated himself.”
Perhaps the tragic news of Brittany Murphy‘s death
at age 32 and the alleged use of multiple prescription drugs spark Tyler’s re-rehab?
Let’s hope the talented singer can get his pain under control and his addiction treated.
