ABC’s legal dramedy “The Deep End” is diving into the January lineup.
“The Deep End” will step into the “FlashForward” slot on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, the network announced Thursday.
The show centers fresh-faced law school grads who are hired by Sterling Law, LA’s most prestigious law firm.
Joining in the cutthroat fun are Matt Long, Ben Lawson, Tina Majorino, Norbert Leo Butz, Leah Pipes, Billy Zane, Nicole Ari Parker and Clancy Brown.
“FlashForward” went on extended hiatus on Dec. 3 and will return on March 4, 2010.
In other TV news, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
– Alfre Woodard has joined the cast of TNT’s “Delta Blues,” joining the previously cast Jason Lee, Celia Weston, Abraham Benrubi and DJ Qualls.
The show centers on Memphis cop Dwight Hendricks (Lee) who still lives with his mom (Weston) and moonlights as an Elvis impersonator. Woodard, who recently left CBS short-lived medical drama “Three Rivers,” will play a new lieutenant who tries to lord it over Dwight.
– FOX is throwing us a gender bender. For their comedy pilot “Keep Hope Alive,” Kate Micucci has been cast as a character originally named Mike. There’s no word what the new character’s name will be.
The comedy centers on Jimmy (Lucas Neff) who has a one night stand that results in a baby and is then thrust into single parenthood when the baby mama ends up on death row.
– ABC is looking into starting “The Six,” an American version of the popular Russian game show “What? Where? When?” The show involves trivia and logical thinking.
