A typically strong showing from “Sunday Night Football” carried NBC to a ratings win Sunday, overcoming CBS’ NFL-boosted schedule and decent numbers from Oprah Winfrey’s “Christmas at the White House” special.

NBC drew 15.7 million viewers and a 9.6 rating/15 share in households in primetime to score a comfortable win over CBS (12.3 million, 7.7/12). ABC came in third with 10.2 million viewers and a 6.1/10, and FOX (5.6 million, 3.2/5) trailed.

NBC dominated the adults 18-49 demographic with a 5.7 rating, nearly doubling its closest competitor, CBS (2.9). ABC was right behind at 2.8, while FOX scored a 2.5.
