Fat Camp and “Mean Girls” meets “I Know What You Did Last Summer”?!
Well, maybe this doesn’t perfectly describe ABC Family’s two latest series pick-ups, but it’s pretty close.
The network announced Wednesday (Jan. 27) that “Huge” and “Pretty Little Liars” — both one-hour dramas — have been given a 10-episode order and are scheduled to premiere later this year.
“Pretty Little Liars” follows four estranged best friends who are reunited a year after the leader of their clique goes missing, only to realize that they’re all receiving anonymous messages from someone who knows all their secrets.
Lucy Kate Hale — best known for her role on The CW’s “Privileged” — will star alongside three relative newcomers as well as “Melrose Place”‘s Laura Leighton and Nia Peeples.
“Huge” follows the lives of the teens and staff at a weight loss camp. It is based on the book of the same name by author Sasha Paley. The series is being developed by Winnie Holzman (“My So-Called Life,” “Once & Again”) and her daughter Savannah Dooley.
