It’s been a few years, so it must be time for the return of the Furyan.
Vin Diesel has signed on to star and produce a third Riddick film, teaming back up with writer/director David Twohy, reports Variety.
The character of Richard B. Riddick was first seen in 2000’s sci-fi flick “Pitch Black” and then “The Chronicles of Riddick” four years later.
The story for the third film will supposedly focus more on Riddick himself, which should be interesting considering the final scene in “Chronicles” set him up for a big life change.
In other casting news:
– Kevin Costner will direct and star in “A Little War of Our Own” for Beacon Pictures. The story revolves around a sheriff (Costner) who keep the peace in a volatile town during World War II.
– Kate Mara, who plays assistant Brittany on HBO’s “Entourage,” is in talks to play a hiker in the Danny Boyle drama “127 Hours” opposite James Franco and Amber Tamblyn, says THR. Inspired by a true story, the survival drama centers on a mountain climber who has to amputate his own arm after getting pinned under a boulder.
