Carrie Underwood makes her acting debut on “How I Met Your Mother” next week, and if the first clips of her performance are any indication, she could carve out a decent second career for herself.
Granted, the role in the March 1 episode — called “Hooked,” for reasons that will soon become apparent — isn’t a huge stretch: The former “American Idol” winner plays a hot girl who puts Ted (Josh Radnor) under her spell. She’s also a pharmaceutical sales rep, which is important information to know in the first clip below. Let Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) explain the history of hot girl-intensive occupations throughout history:
The next two clips get at the crux of the episode’s title: Ted has it bad for Tiffany (Underwood), but he can’t see that she’s playing him. Try not to get distracted by the teacup pig in this next clip, and listen to what she says toward the end.
Finally, Barney — helpful as ever — offers to get Ted out of his funk in a very Stinson-esque way.
What do you think of the clips? Do you think Carrie Underwood has a future in front of the camera?
