Mackenzie Phillips has changed her mind. That is to say, she’s chosen new words to describe her decade-long sexual relationship with her father, Mamas and the Papas singer John Phillips.
She told Joy Behar on her nightly HLN talk show Tuesday (Feb. 2) that she’s learned from other incest survivors that her use of the word “consensual” is incorrect. Due to inherent parental power, sex between a parent and a child is never “consensual” on the child’s part.

]]>Fair enough. But Mackenzie is still glad she’s spoken out about her experiences due to the number of women who have contacted her to thank her for bringing all this to light in her book, “High on Arrival.”
