Oprah Winfrey has done it again.
The media queen has ushered in new talent Nate Berkus into the weekday syndication game.
Harpo Productions is behind “The Nate Berkus Show,” which will hit TV this fall thanks to all-night negotiations between NBC Universal and Sony Television, reports the New York Times’ Mediacoder blog.
Berkus is an interior designer who has been featured on the “Oprah” show for room makeovers. He’s designed for Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, Barneys New York, the W Hotels and Billy Joel.
Besides appearances on Winfrey’s show, he also hosted “Oprah’s Big Give” on ABC in 2008.
The designer is the latest talent that Oprah has met, featured and then launched into another level of their careers including Dr. Phil McGraw, Rachael Ray and Dr. Oz (Mehmet Cengiz Oz). Just call Oprah the Mickey Mouse club of syndicated lifestyle talent.
“The Nate Berkus Show” is slated to debut in the fall on at least NBC’s 10 owned stations.
