gabby sidibe 'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe brushes off Vanity Fair cover snub
Vanity Fair’s March issue had a fold-out cover with nine young thin, pretty actresses in ethereal designer dresses, touted as ‘The Fresh Faces of 2010.’
Abbie Cornish, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall, Mia Wasikowska, Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, and Evan Rachel Wood clearly all had a good year and good performances.
But the biggest newcomer with the most amazing story, Oscar nominee Gabouray Sidibe, who made her acting debut in the lead role in “Precious,” was not included to make it an even ten.

However, Gabby was interviewed for the issue and appeared inside the magazine.
“At first I thought, ‘Hmm, should I be there?” she tells Access Hollywood. “Then I very quickly got over it. I think if I were a part of that shoot I would have felt a little left out anyway.”
“I would have felt a little like… whether or not I should have been there,” she said. “[It] doesn’t matter, because I wasn’t on it and I’m excited to be mentioned anywhere, and it doesn’t matter to me where I’m not mentioned.”
