The crazy-busy Bradley Cooper has lined up his next project, an action-comedy with Reese Witherspoon called “This Means War.”
Cooper would play one of a pair of spies whose friendship devolves into trickery and deceit when they both fall for the same woman (Witherspoon). McG (“Terminator: Salvation,” “Human Target”) is in talks to direct, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The pairing of Cooper — who’s coming off “The Hangover,” has “Valentine’s Day” in theaters next week and stars in “The A-Team” this summer — and Witherspoon (“Walk the Line,” “Four Christmases”) could finally get “This Means War” off the ground. The script has been kicking around 20th Century Fox for more than a decade; Timothy Dowling (“Role Models”) wrote the most recent draft.
Past incarnations have had the likes of director Gore Verbinski and star Martin Lawrence attached.
