“American Idol” finalist Danny Gokey talks about all things “My Best Days” for his Soundcheck interview.
Danny tells Soundcheck that “music is a universal language that everyone speaks … music can make you feel different emotions … that’s the power and the connection of music.”
Gokey also relays how he signed on to “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me” before he had any idea that the man who wrote the song wrote it after he lost his wife, which also happened to Gokey right before he auditioned for “American Idol.”
“Only destiny could put something like this together. He said this was the first song he wrote that gave him hope … after his wife passed away.”
Danny’s debut album “My Best Days” dropped Tuesday, March 2 and in April he kicks off a tour with Sugarland.
Check out the whole interview at the Soundcheck website, along with other Idols like Katharine McPhee, Carrie Underwood and the three finalists from season 8 Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Allison Iraheta.
