When we last left “Melrose Place,” the mystery of Sydney’s murder had been wrapped up. Thomas Calabro’s character Dr. Michael Mancini’s wife Vanessa was found to be the murderess.
So is “Melrose Place” going to continue on with such a dark, mysterious undertone?
“We’re going to move onto more of an episodic, three-episode-arc kind of storylines as we navigate our way towards a lighter, brighter, snappier show,” Calabro says. “It’s still going to have those huge, dramatic circumstances, but I believe the way it’ll be handled will be a little different moving forward.”
Will the lighter, brighter “Melrose” feature Dr. Michael Mancini, now that his former lover Sydney and his wife are dead? “I play a substantial role in the second half of the season. Some very surprising things happen between me and my two sons. I myself was shocked,” Calabro teases.
Oooh, intrigue! “Melrose Place” returns to the CW with brand-new episodes on Tuesday, March 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
UPDATE: We previously wrote that Calabro’s on-screen wife was presumably in jail. We had forgotten she was killed by Ashlee “Crazy Eyes” Simpson’s character Violet. We have amended the post and apologize for the error.
