It’s official! Betty White is gracing the “Saturday Night Live” stage May 8 — please do a “Golden Girls” sketch. Please.
People is reporting that WNBC in New York reported Thursday morning (March 11) that Betty White is confirmed as the host for the May 8 episode (just in time for Mother’s Day!).
The episode will also reunite former female cast members Tina Fey, Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch.
Lorne Michaels says in a statement, “I can’t think of a better way to spend Mother’s Day weekend than with Betty White.”
There has to be a “Golden Girls” sketch, right? Should Betty White play Rose Nylund, as she did on the show? Or take on one of the other “Golden Girls?” Based on the jokes at the Screen Actors Guild awards, she’d be better off as senior playgirl Blanche Devereaux.
Either way, we can’t wait. Looks like the Facebook campaign paid off!
