american pie 'Twilight: New Moon' director Chris Weitz's hoping for another 'American Pie' reunion“American Pie” was a hilarious classic 1999 high school comedy that launched the careers of Tara Reid (well, briefly), Jason Biggs (where’d he go?) Alyson Hannigan, Shannon Elizabeth (again, MIA) Sean William Scott, Mena Suvari, Christina Millian, and Chris Klein.

The old gang got together again for “American Pie 2” and  “American Wedding” which didn’t quite capture the magic of the first one. But “Twilight: New Moon” director Chris Weitz and his “Pie” director bro Paul Weitz hope to get the original cast back together again soon.

But reunions haven’t gone so well lately. Susan Dey Shirley Jones inexplicably bailed on the “Today Show’s” “Patridge Family” reunion and. A planned “Brady Bunch” reunion also petered out when stars Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb (Marcia and Jan Brady) refused to be on the same stage together due to their feud. It reportedly had something to do with Maureen’s book detailing cocaine use, sex with her Brady brother and an alleged lesbian hook-up with Eve. And starting off the ‘Today Show’s” Family TV show week, the “Eight is Enough” cast reunited but without actor Adam Rich. So good luck getting everyone back, Chris and Paul. And we can’t wait to see the ‘kids” again and find out how their “Pie” lives turned out.
