Adam Lambert talked with The Dish Rag at the 2010 GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday (Apr. 17) about how things are changing for gays in show business.

He discussed being the first openly gay artist to be signed to a major record label, gave his advice for the current “American Idol” contestants (differentiate themselves, coffee, maybe a jog), as well as talking about the home-sweet-homeness of mentoring and performing on the show that helped launch his career and seeing old friends this week.

And he even gave Zap2it readers a big personal shout-out. Awww.

]]>UPDATE]: Hey Zap2it readers, we noticed some of your comments and just wanted to clarify Adam’s statement: He said he’s been told that he’s the first artist signed to a major record label at the time when the artist was already openly gay and out of the closet to the public. We hope that clears up any ambiguity there may have been in a previous version of this post. Follow Zap2it on Twitter and Zap2it on Facebook for the latest celebrity news and buzz.
