Forget Match.com. And no more single bars. An unusually intelligent new rom-com “Timer” has a better idea. The film is set in an alternate version of LA, in a time when people get timers implanted in their arms that will beep when they lock eyes with their true love.
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Emma Caulfield plays the almost 30-year-old Oona, who unfortunately has a blank timer, which means that her soul mate is either dead or doesn’t have a timer.
So she frantically dates men without timers in the hopes of finding her “one” and keeps getting disappointed when she gets her guys to get timers and they don’t turn out to be her true love.
]]>John Patrick Amedori from “Gossip Girl” (he played Serena’s scruffy artist) and things get really complicated.
In the end, it’s not about happily ever after, it’s about enjoying the glorious mess leading up to it.
The movie will open on Friday (April 30) in Los Angeles and on May 14 in New York. Timer is also available on Tribeca VOD on April 21. Check out the film’s Twitter for more information. But it’s also available on demand for those who live everywhere else.
