Jimmy Kimmel was probably feeling pretty good about his $1000 bet on Erin Andrews winning “Dancing With the Stars” after her Monday (April 26) performance.
Despite Len Goodman’s dissatisfaction with her samba (well, namely Maksim Chmerkovskiy‘s shirt coming off during the routine), Andrews still scored nines from the other two judges, putting her in second place for the night behind the unstoppable Nicole Scherzinger.
On Monday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” the talk show host expressed his belief that Andrews is the best on the show who is actually there in “the spirit of the competition.” He explained that it’s not fair that Scherzinger is already a professional dancer (“that’s cheating,” he says), and the same goes for professional ice skater Evan Lysacek (“I know it’s ice skating, but to me it’s dancing. It’s all the same thing.”)
Kimmel acknowledged that he gets $5000 if Andrews prevails.
Other highlights of the interview include the prepubescent Scrabble champions on Kimmel’s show who say they’re not excited to see Andrews and “didn’t even know who she was.” “Give them about another eight months,” says Kimmel.
Kimmel also pressures her (in Part 2 below) to fess up on all the romantic rumors circulating about her and her partner. Interestingly enough, she blushes (pretty bad) and gets rather flustered … not to mention doing a pretty good job of skirting the question.
