DJ AM, born Adam Goldstein, will be seen in one of this summer’s possible blockbusters
The late DJ appears in “Iron Man 2,” reports the LA Times Hero Complex. He’ll play himself at a birthday party for billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
“Adam, I need a fat beat,” a boozy Stark addresses DJ AM.
After Goldstein’s sudden and shocking death in August 2009, director Jon Favreau struggled with the decision to keep the scene in the film. In the end, he decide to keep the appearance.
“We tried to make it respectful, and for people who know him, they’ll get a kick out of it and for people who don’t, it will sort of slide by without much notice,” said Favreau.
“Iron Man 2,” which is dedicated to Goldstein, hits theaters on May 7.
