“Friday Night Lights” fans are sure to miss MVPs Taylor Kitsch, Zach Gilford, and Jesse Plemons next season, but we’re thinking that new cast member Grey Damon may help ease our suffering.
Grey Damon (what a name) will be joining the East Dillon Lions as Hastings Ruckle (what a name), a source tells EW. Hastings, whose background is in basketball, joins Coach Taylor’s football team as a wide receiver.
According to the casting breakdown, producers were looking for a “super, super hot guy who must be over 6 feet tall with a strong
athletic build” and a “dark, hippie, party-guy
vibe.” Damon certainly fills the super, super hot requirement, but can he fill the super, super hot void left by Tim Riggins?
In other casting news, “Charmed” star Holly Marie Combs has signed on to join the cast of ABC Family’s upcoming “Pretty Little Liars.” She’ll be playing the mother of Lucy Hale‘s character — despite the fact that their age difference is only 16 years.
The series follows four teenagers who have been hiding a secret. Already on board to play Combs’ TV husband is Chad Lowe, and the cast includes “Melrose Place” star Laura Leighton and “Vampire Diaries” witch Bianca Lawson. The series premieres June 8 on ABC Family.
