“Robin Hood” is riding into theaters on May 14 — check out these action shots, the trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette of this latest version of the classic tale.
The trailer we’ve seen before — remember how Cate Blanchett‘s Marian is no maid in this “Robin Hood?” But the publicity stills and the featurette are new. The 2010 “Robin Hood” reunites Russell Crowe with director Ridley Scott (they previously joined forces on the Oscar-winning “Gladiator) alongside actors Blanchett, Max Von Sydow and William Hurt.
It certainly looks exciting, though we do hold a fond place in our hearts for the 1991 “Prince of Thieves” version starring Kevin Costner, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Alan Rickman. “Cut your heart out with a spoon,” indeed.
We do like the looks of Blanchett’s Marian, but what do you guys think it looks like a fun romp or just another retread of an oft-told story?
