This week’s “Saturday Night Live” host, Ryan Phillippe, stopped by Howard Stern‘s show and boy, did he let loose.
He talked about the bizarre who-dumped-who dueling PR releases about his breakup with Abbie Cornish, the annoying actor who was hot for his wife, Reese Witherspoon, and his own casting couch experience.
Howard mentioned the press releases from Abbie’s camp and his camp. Ryan
clarified: “Hers came first. And this is also why I’ve established a
new rule not to date anyone who has a publicist. Yeah. It’s like, who
announces break-up? I don’t understand that, you know? There is no need
Was there any actor he didn’t trust around Reese? “When she did this movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ … [Josh Lucas] went on like ‘Entertainment Tonight’ saying that when he first saw her in a movie he said, ‘I’m gonna marry that girl one day.’ Basically it was telling the world that he was in love with my wife! It was s****y.” Finally Howard asked him if he was ever a victim of a Hollywood “casting couch.” Ryan admitted that when he was 18 or 19 he was asked to go over to someone’s house for a rehearsal and then was asked to take his shirt off. That’s when he split. “I looked like I was 13. Yeah. It was creepy.”
