“American Idol” gave FOX an easy ratings victory Wednesday night, but there was otherwise very little to note on an evening when only one other show — “Law & Order: SVU” — even sniffed the 10 million-viewer mark.

FOX led the night by wide margin, scoring 14.1 million viewers and an 8.3 rating/14 share in households. NBC (7.3 million, 4.7/8) came in second. CBS took third with 6.6 million viewers and a 4.3/7, finishing a little ahead of ABC (5.8 million, 3.6/6). The CW drew 2.1 million people and a 1.5/3.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX’s 4.4 rating was more than twice as good as second-place ABC’s 2.1. NBC was a close third at 2.0. CBS averaged 1.6 in the demo and The CW 0.9.
