ESPN correspondent Erin Andrews has so far been successful on her “Dancing With the Stars” run, and she’s already planning her next move. After the “Dancing” finale airs, Andrews will return for her third consecutive year as a live correspondent at the 2010 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
First, Andrews will broadcast live to ESPN when SportsCenter’s Sage Steele hosts the Semifinal round of the spelling contest at 10:00 a.m. EST on June 4. Later that night, we can catch Andrews’ commentary on the final championship round at 8 p.m. on ABC. Chris Harrison, host of “The Bachelor,” will host that final round.
273 spellers from around the world will compete in the event, which takes place in Washington D.C. Most of the competitors are between 12 and 14 years old, though some are as young as 8. In 2009 Kavya Shivashankar won with the word “laodicean.” This year, Kavya’s sister Vanya is the youngest competitor.
