Beau Biden, 41, has suffered a stroke, the White House announced Tuesday (May 11).
Vice President Joe Biden‘s eldest son was admitted to Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., “after having what we believe to be a mild stroke,” according to a statement from his doctor, released by the vice president’s office.
Beau Biden, who is Delaware’s attorney general, is in good spirits and talking with his family at the hospital. He is fully alert, in stable condition and has not lost any motor or speech skills. He is expected to make a complete recovery.

A recent Wayne State University study showed that young adults who suffer strokes are often misdiagnosed with vertigo, migraine, alcohol intoxication, seizure, and an
inner ear disorder.
Risk factors for young adults? A personal and/or family history of migraines, smoking and, in women, oral contraceptive use.
Biden will be transferred later today to Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital in Philadelphia for “further observation and examination,”
according to the vice president’s office.
