OK, so after a strong first season (although that weak first finale should have signaled the rapid coming decline to all involved), NBC’s “Heroes” failed to deliver much of anything other than disappointment, but that doesn’t mean the superhero drama is doomed to failed in general.
NBC will give it another go — and try a different angle — at midseason with “The Cape,” a drama about a superhero who doesn’t have superpowers. Like Batman. Or Kick-Ass
David Lyons stars as a cop who is framed for murder and then presumed dead. In order to clear his name and get back to his family, he takes on the persona of The Cape, his son’s favorite comicbook hero.
Jennifer Ferrin (“Life on Mars”), Ryan Wynott (“FlashForward”), James Frain (“The Tudors”), Keith David (“Death at a Funeral”), Summer Glau (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”) and Dorian Missick (“Six Degrees”) also star.
