The CW has only two new series on its fall 2010 schedule, and the network is going to make sure they get some support.
“Hellcats” and “Nikita” will air at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday and Thursday, which means they’ll have the biggest shows on The CW as lead-ins: “America’s Next Top Model” on Wednesdays and “The Vampire Diaries” on Thursdays.
The network also did some shuffling of its existing shows. “One Tree Hill” and “90210” swapped spots, and “Supernatural” will re-team with “Smallville” for an action-filled Friday lineup. “Life Unexpected” will also be back in the fall, airing after “OTH” on Tuesday nights.
The CW didn’t make announce any midseason pickups at its upfront on Thursday (May 20), but news on that front could come in the next few weeks. [UPDATE: The CW later announced one midseason show — “Shedding for the Wedding” (working title), a reality show about 10 overweight engaged couples who compete to win free elements of their wedding by dropping the pounds.]
It also announced a makeover reality series, “Plain Jane,” which will air in the summer.
