In this week’s episode of “Drop Dead Diva,” the theme seemed to be all about second chances.
Jane (Brooke Elliott) represented a man (Chad Lowe!) who had suffered from amnesia for nine years and wanted a shot at shared custody for his son. A female writer (Ricki Lake – lookin’ good, right?) came clean on her male pseudonym, but in the end her popularity with the readers won out over her deception of them. Gotta love them loyal readers! Wink.
Jane, on the other hand, didn’t get a second chance with Tony (David Denman). After several unreturned calls, Teri (Margaret Cho) worked her network of assistants to find out where he was having lunch. Jane and Stacy (April Bowlby) dropped in to find him beaming across the table from some hot chick and let’s just say Jane lost her cool. We found out later that he was on a job interview and he wasn’t happy about the scene Jane made.
So, what does he do? Break up with her! Um, wasn’t he the one who wasn’t returning Jane’s calls? How was she supposed to know he was interviewing for a job?
On the other hand, maybe the unreturned phone calls and the hasty dumping means he’s just not that into her and she should just move on? What’s your take?
