Prior to Jamey Johnson‘s performance on Wednesday night at the CMT Music Awards, comedian David Spade told the audience that he was supposed to introduce Carrie Underwood but was given Johnson at the last minute.
“I didn’t fly in a puddle-jumper from Little Rock to introduce the dude who looks like an extra on ‘Ice Road Truckers,'” Spade joked.
True, Jamey isn’t given to belting out “Cowboy Casanova” while scantily attired, but he did debut his song “Macon,” one of 25 new songs that will be part of the two-disc release entitled “The Guitar Song” this September.
