Selena Gomez turned 18 on Thursday (July 22), and she gets to celebrate all weekend with the release of “Ramona and Beezus,” her first starring role in a feature film.

And it sounds like her young co-star, Joey King, has Selena taken care of on the presents front. ]]>appeared together on the “KTLA Morning News” Friday, and as you can see in the video above, Joey pretty much steals the show, describing the myriad gifts she had given Selena for her birthday: “I gave her something on the plane, a hat that said ‘New York’ on it and mine was kind of matching, so we wore that together. And I got her something at home, but I can’t say what it is because she’s right here.” And, to top it all off, Joey threw Selena an airborne birthday party, complete with improvised cake: a cookie covered in ice cream and hot fudge. Selena does get some time to talk about why she wanted to make “Ramona and Beezus,” which she hopes her many “Wizards of Waverly Place” fans will see: “I have such a wonderful fan base that have watched my series … so I wanted to do a role that was a little different for me but that families could go see.” “Ramona and Beezus” is in theaters now.
