We’ve all been on deathwatch when it comes to ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.” The network ordered a reduced season, the show has been plagued with budgetary issues, and the loss of key members like Rob Lowe and Emily VanCamp. Even the lead actors seem ready for a final season.
Yet, executive producer, David Marshall Grant, tells EW that it’s news to him. “No one has told me that it’s the last season,” says Grant.
While some are seeing next year’s one-year fast forward in time as possibly “jumping the shark,” Grant sees it as a much needed shot in the arm for the series that could lead to more seasons.
“I’m actually looking at this season as a fresh beginning,” he says. “That’s one of the things you can do when you jump a year. I want to put [our characters] in fresh and different places, and hopefully that will have legs.”
What are your thoughts on “Brothers & Sisters” surviving after next season?
