In a discussion on Tuesday’s (July 27) episode of “The View” about why older women who have led lives of heterosexuality are suddenly turning to homosexual partnerships, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has an interesting point to make.
argues that you don’t just suddenly wake up one day and decide you’re a
lesbian. Hasselbeck’s rebuttal is that when you get older, sometimes
it’s more about companionship than something sexual.
Other sites have characterized this as Hasselbeck insulting lesbians by
saying they are lesbians because they can’t get a man. We don’t think
that’s exactly what she’s saying. Her point about wanting companionship
because all the men your own age and of similar life experiences are
turning to younger women is a valid one.
What do you think?
