“Dean has been out of hunting for a year,” she confirms. “He’s been living with a woman, Lisa Braden, for a year, and her child, her twelve-year-old, so he’s out of the life, thinking his brother’s been dead for a year.”
Of course, “Supernatural” wouldn’t be much of a show if it were about domesticated Dean, so he’ll get pulled back into hunting with Sam pretty quickly. What will they be hunting? Well… let’s just say those boys from “The Vampire Diaries” better watch their backs.
“We have a meta episode that kind of explores vampires in the Zeitgeist right now,” Gamble says. “There’s never been a better time to be vampire because victims just fling themselves at you, because they’re like ‘Twilight’ fans.”
Anyone who’s seen “Supernatural” knows that in Sam and Dean’s world, you wouldn’t want a vampire hanging out in your bedroom, watching you sleep. (We’re looking at you, Edward Cullen and Damon Salvatore.)
“As you know vampires are very vicious and kind of ugly and brutal on our show,” Gamble tells us. “So they’re taking advantage of the fact that girls kind of want Edward Cullen or the brothers on ‘The Vampire Diaries.'”
Star Jensen Ackles added during the panel discussion, “I’m looking forward to killing some vampires properly. Cut this pastey waify s*** out, and let’s just kill some stuff.”
