The handsome star of “Inception” has used his recent surge in exposure to air all of his dirty laundry, seemingly mistaking reporters for therapists.
His most recent confession — after the nonchalant acknowledgment of his own bisexuality — focuses on his personal battle with drug and alcohol addiction.
In a surprisingly heavy interview with Men’s Health UK (via JustJared), the 32-year-old details goes into detail about his high-risk behavior.
“I thought I’d have a little bit of a party, and I’d end up high and frightened, in places that scared me,” he says. “In a blackout I could end up anywhere.”
]]>anywhere. “I might wake up somewhere the other side of London, or in another country. Or in bed with someone I didn’t know, not knowing how I got there. Bleeding. This was on a daily basis. And I was going to work. I didn’t want to appear rock ‘n’ roll. I didn’t want anyone to know I was out of control, but I couldn’t hide it. Eventually, the body gives up. My body told me. I was completely kaput. I was lucky I didn’t get hepatitis or AIDS.”
That’s all behind him now. Engaged, a father of a two-year-old son and star of the upcoming “Mad Max” reboot, he’s got a lot to keep him on the straight and narrow. But clearly, he doesn’t mind reminiscing.
