New American hero — former Jet Blue steward Steven Slater — who infamously quit his job by cussing out a passenger, grabbing two beers and emergency chute-ing out of the plane — has officially signed with Hollywood powerhouse, Howard Bragman.
Bragman, whose agency is called Fifteen Minutes, is perhaps best known for adeptly orchestrating the coming out parties for several gay stars, including country singer Chely Wright, actress Meredith Baxter and BWNBA superstar Sheryl Swoopes. Bragman also has a TV special entitled “Coming Out” that premieres on A&E this fall.
Here’s Howard’s statement:
]]>“I can officially confirm that I am
now representing Steven Slater. While my work will include media
relations, my team at Fifteen Minutes and I will also be helping him
sort out the scores of offers that have come through in the past week
from media, producers, brands and other interested parties.
very much believe that Steven touched a nerve with the American people
and am proud to be helping him tell his story at the appropriate time
in the appropriate way.”
confess we kinda had a feeling something was cooking between Slater and
Bragman after a Fifteen Minutes publicist emailed us this weekend with
the photo of Slater and Barry Manilow that we posted earlier today.
Now we can clearly see that both Howard and Steven are wearing their Manilow concert passes. Aha! Mystery solved.
Enjoy this hilarious animated version of Slater’s infamous incident.
