The Top 10 is finalized on “America’s Got Talent” after the second semi-final results show.
The first group brought down is Debra Romer, Michael Grasso, Murray and Nathaniel Kenyon. I think clearly this is between Grasso and Murray, with Murray as the one who should advance, but we shall see. After some chitchat, Nick Cannon puts Michael Grasso through. Wow. Not a huge shock after last night, but I think the wrong magician advanced. It’s too bad they both couldn’t have moved on.
Now we have a performance by Le Reve from the Wynn casino in Las Vegas. It’s a lot of acrobatics and stunts, including a very impressive move where one man balances another man upside down on his shoulders and then walks around. I can’t really do it justice, but it was neat.
The next group brought down is Fighting Gravity and Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, which makes me slightly nervous for Gravity because the judges went so nutso over Jeremy last night. And then … both advance. Oh, Nick Cannon. You scamp! Had me all worried and stuff.
Jason Derulo is the next performance — I love how Jackie Evancho jumped up and down and clapped when Nick Cannon announced him. How cute is she? Anyway, so this is … kind of a bland R&B single. Meh.
Then Jerry Springer drops by for a visit, haha. He’s there to promote the tour, which he is hosting. Moving on …
The next group is Haspop, Jackie Evancho and Maestro Alexander Bui. It’s gotta be Jackie, right? But that’s too bad on Alexander, he’s very talented. Nick then puts through Jackie. Yeah.
When they ask her about how she’ll spend the money if she wins, she says she wants to find “something for the animals.” I was wrong earlier — she COULD be cuter and it just happened.
The last group is Studio One Young Beast Society, Michael Lipari and Ashleigh Dejon and Alice Tan Ridley. Wow, that’s going to be tough for the judges. Nick first sends Michael and Ashleigh home. And now it’s the judges’ vote. Is there any doubt Alice Tan Ridley is going to advance? I don’t think there is.
Piers immediately surprises me by voting for Studio One (who YES, needs a better name). Sharon then votes for Studio One too. Wow! I’m not upset or anything, but quite surprised. The judges must know there are too many vocalist acts already.
So there you have it — Michael Grasso, Jeremy Vanschoonhoven, Fighting Gravity, Jackie Evancho and Studio One are joining Anna and Patryk, Taylor Mathews, Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock and Christina & Ali in the Top 10.
Who are your favorites?
