This fall, BBC America will air 26 episodes of “Law & Order: UK” in the U.S. for the first time. Scripts were taken from the U.S. version and adapted to fit the British legal system. Like the rest of the “Law & Order” franchise, the UK version is executive produced by Dick Wolf.
Justine Bateman has booked a guest-starring gig on “Private Practice.” She’ll play a marijuana-smoking patient who Pete and Cooper disagree over. The episode airs Sept. 30. [UPI]
A&E’s “Dog the Bounty Hunter” returns for a new season on Weds., Oct. 6 with a special one-hour premiere. The first episode follows Dog as he tracks a methamphetamine dealer who is on the run in Colorado with his pregnant girlfriend.
Fox has sealed a deal for another J.J. Abrams pilot with “Alcatraz.” The pilot, a spec script from “Lost” writer Elizabeth Sarnoff, is set in the famed prison once inhabited by Al Capone. It’s a Warner Bros. project from Bad Robot. [Variety]
Dylan Baker has been cast for a possibly recurring role on “Burn
Notice.” He will appear in the fourth season finale and is rumored to recur next season as Max, a powerful figure from Michael’s past. [Deadline]
