That was quick. Rick Sanchez has become a favorite punchline among comedians.
Jon Stewart and David Letterman mocked the recently fired host of CNN’s “Rick’s List” at Comedy Central’s “Night of Too Many Stars” event in New York on Saturday (Oct. 2), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In his opening monologue for the show — which raises money for autism education — Stewart quipped, “If you went on radio and said the Jews control the media…you may want to hold on to your money.”
]]>CNN had fired Sanchez following a radio interview in which he had called Stewart a bigot and then claimed that Jewish people weren’t discriminated against since they control the media. Stewart also added, “All he has to do is apologize to us, and we’ll hire him back.” Later during the show, Letterman said he was in the city “helping Rick Sanchez clean out his office.” Apparently Tom Brokaw also poked fun at Sanchez. We wonder if all this mockery will make it to the final aired program, which is scheduled for Oct. 21 on Comedy Central.
